| It was narrated by Bilal, as Prophet Muhammad PBUH said – الصلوۃ خیر من النوم Transliteration “As-salatu khairum minan-nawm, As-salatu khairum minan-nawm” Meaning The prayer is better than sleep; the prayer is better than sleep The aforementioned verse was approved for the fajr adhan. This is how the fajr adhan remained. – Surah Ibn Majah 716 |
2. We will provide you with the best outcome
| وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًۭا ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَٱلْعَقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ Transliteration “wamur ahlaka bil-ṣalati wa-iṣ’ṭabir ʿalayhā lā nasaluka riz’qan naḥnu narzuquka wal-ʿāqibatu lilttaqw” Meaning And enjoin (on) your family the prayer and be steadfast therein. Not We ask you (for) provision; We provide (for) you, and the outcome (is) for the righteous[ness]. – Surah Taha; Verse 132 |

| فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قِيَمًۭا وَقُعُودًۭا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ ۚ فَإِذَا ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَبًۭا مَّوْقُوتًۭ Transliteration “fa-idhā qaḍaytumu l-ṣalata fa-udh’kurū l-laha qiyāman waquʿūdan waʿalā junūbikum fa-idhā iṭ’manantum fa-aqīmū l-ṣalata inna l-ṣalata kānat ʿalā l-mu’minīna kitāban mawqūta” Meaning Then when you (have) finished the prayer, remember Allah standing and sitting and (lying) on your sides. But when you are secure, then establish the (regular) prayer. Indeed, the prayer is on the believers’ prescribed (at) fixed times. – Surah An Nisa; Verse 103 |

| يَٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَٱغْسِلُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى ٱلْمَرَافِقِ وَٱمْسَحُوا۟ بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى ٱلْكَعْبَيْنِ ۚ وَإِن كُنتُمْ جُنُبًۭا فَٱطَّهَّرُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌۭ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلْغَآئِطِ أَوْ لَمَسْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا۟ مَآءًۭ فَتَيَمَّمُوا۟ صَعِيدًۭا طَيِّبًۭا فَٱمْسَحُوا۟ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُم مِّنْهُ ۚ مَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيَجْعَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ حَرَجٍۢ وَلَكِن يُرِيدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ Transliteration yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū idhā qum’tum ilā l-ṣalati fa-igh’silū wujūhakum wa-aydiyakum ilā l-marāfiqi wa-im’saḥū biruūsikum wa-arjulakum ilā l-kaʿbayni wa-in kuntum junuban fa-iṭṭahharū wa-in kuntum marḍā aw ʿalā safarin aw jāa aḥadun minkum mina l-ghāiṭi aw lāmastumu l-nisāa falam tajidū māan fatayammamū ṣaʿīdan ṭayyiban fa-im’saḥū biwujūhikum wa-aydīkum min’hu mā yurīdu l-lahu liyajʿala ʿalaykum min ḥarajin walākin yurīdu liyuṭahhirakum waliyutimma niʿ’matahu ʿalaykum laʿallakum tashkurūn Meaning O you who believe! When you stand up for the prayer, then wash your faces and your hands till the elbows and wipe your heads and your feet till the ankles. But if you are (in) a state of ceremonial impurity, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or has come anyone of you from the toilet or has (had) contact (with) the women and not you find water, then do (with) earth clean, then wipe your faces and your hands with it. Does Not intend Allah to make for you any difficulty but He intends to purify you and to complete His Favor upon you so that you may (be) grateful. |
5. Do righteous deeds, establish prayer and give zakat
| إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّلِحَتِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Transliteration inna alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata waātawū l-zakata lahum ajruhum ʿinda rabbihim walā khawfun ʿalayhim walā hum yaḥzanūn Meaning Indeed, those who believe[d] and did good deeds and established the prayer and gave the zakat for them – their reward (is) with their Lord, and no fear on them and not they will grieve – Surah Al Baqarah; Verse 227 |
6. Establish prayer sincerely
| وَأَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ Transliteration wa-an aqīmū l-ṣalata wa-ittaqūhu wahuwa alladhī ilayhi tuḥ’sharūn Meaning “And to establish the prayer and fear Him. And He (is) the One to Him you will be gathered.” – Surah Al Anam; Verse 72 |
7. Stand in front of Allah obediently during prayers
| حَفِظُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ وَقُومُوا۟ لِلَّهِ قَنِتِينَ Transliteration ḥāfiẓū ʿalā l-ṣalawāti wal-ṣalati l-wus’ṭā waqūmū lillahi qānitīn Meaning Guard strictly [on] the prayers, and the prayer – [the] middle, and stand up for Allah devoutly obedient. – Surah Al Baqarah; Verse 238 |
8. Remember Allah SWT often to succeed
| فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةُ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ Transliteration fa-idhā quḍiyati l-ṣalatu fa-intashirū fī l-arḍi wa-ib’taghū min faḍli l-lahi wa-udh’kurū l-laha kathīran laʿallakum tuf’liḥūn Meaning Then when is concluded the prayer, then disperse in the land and seek from (the) Bounty (of) Allah, and remember Allah much so that you may succeed. – Surah Al Jumu’ah; Verse 10 |
9. Prayer can prohibit you from wrongdoing
| ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ Transliteration ut’lu mā ūḥiya ilayka mina l-kitābi wa-aqimi l-ṣalata inna l-ṣalata tanhā ʿani l-faḥshāi wal-munkari waladhik’ru l-lahi akbaru wal-lahu yaʿlamu mā taṣnaʿūn Meaning Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish the prayer. Indeed, the prayer prevents from the immorality and evil deeds, and surely (the) remembrance (of) Allah (is) greatest. And Allah knows what you do. – Surah Al Ankabut; Verse 45 |
10. People who Allah SWT leaves astray, never will they be able to find for him a way
| وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَوَرُ عَن كَهْفِهِمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقْرِضُهُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَهُمْ فِى فَجْوَةٍۢ مِّنْهُ ۚ ذَلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَتِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ وَلِيًّۭا مُّرْشِدًۭا Transliteration watarā l-shamsa idhā ṭalaʿat tazāwaru ʿan kahfihim dhāta l-yamīni wa-idhā gharabat taqriḍuhum dhāta l-shimāli wahum fī fajwatin min’hu dhālika min āyāti l-lahi man yahdi l-lahu fahuwa l-muh’tadi waman yuḍ’lil falan tajida lahu waliyyan mur’shida Meaning And you (might) have seen the sun, when it rose, inclining away from their cave to the right, and when it set, passing away from them to the left while they (lay) in the open space thereof. That (was) from (the) Signs (of) Allah. Whoever guides Allah and he (is) the guided one, and whomever He lets go astray, then never you will find for him a protector, a guide. – Surah Al Kahf; Verse 17 |
11. Neglecting prayers and pursuing desires will lead you to meet evil
| فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا Transliteration fakhalafa min baʿdihim khalfun aḍāʿū l-ṣalata wa-ittabaʿū l-shahawāti fasawfa yalqawna ghayya Meaning Then succeeded from after them successors, who neglected the prayer and they followed the lusts so soon, they will meet evil – Surah Al Maryam; Verse 59 |
12. If you disbelieve Allah SWT & Prophet Muhammad PBUH, then your expenditure will be prevented
| وَمَا مَنَعَهُمْ أَن تُقْبَلَ مِنْهُمْ نَفَقَتُهُمْ إِلَّآ أَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كُسَالَىٰ وَلَا يُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كَرِهُونَ Transliteration wamā manaʿahum an tuq’bala min’hum nafaqātuhum illā annahum kafarū bil-lahi wabirasūlihi walā yatūna l-ṣalata illā wahum kusālā walā yunfiqūna illā wahum kārihūn Meaning And not prevents them that is accepted from them their contributions except that they disbelieve in Allah and in His Messenger, and not they come (to) the prayer except while they (are) lazy, and not they spend except while they (are) unwilling. – Surah At Taubah; Verse 54 |
13. You must seek help through prayer & have sabr.
| وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلْخَشِعِينَ Transliteration wa-is’taʿīnū bil-ṣabri wal-ṣalati wa-innahā lakabīratun illā ʿalā l-khāshiʿīn Meaning And seek help through patience and the prayer; and indeed, it (is) surely difficult except on the humble ones – Surah Al Baqarah; Verse 45 |
14. Turn to Allah SWT, fear him and establish prayer
| مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ Transliteration munībīna ilayhi wa-ittaqūhu wa-aqīmū l-ṣalata walā takūnū mina l-mush’rikīn Meaning Turning to Him, and fear Him and establish the prayer and (do) not be of the polytheists – Surah Ar Rum; Verse 31 |
15. True Muslims are those who are righteous
| لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَهَدُوا۟ ۖ وَٱلصَّبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ ۗ أُو۟لَٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ Transliteration laysa l-bira an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l-mashriqi wal-maghribi walākinna l-bira man āmana bil-lahi wal-yawmi l-ākhiri wal-malāikati wal-kitābi wal-nabiyīna waātā l-māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l-qur’bā wal-yatāmā wal-masākīna wa-ib’na l-sabīli wal-sāilīna wafī l-riqābi wa-aqāma l-ṣalata waātā l-zakata wal-mūfūna biʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wal-ṣābirīna fī l-basāi wal-ḍarāi waḥīna l-basi ulāika alladhīna ṣadaqū wa-ulāika humu l-mutaqūn Meaning It is not [the] righteousness that you turn your faces towards the east and the west, [and] but the righteous[ness] (is he) who believes in Allah and the Day [the] Last, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Prophets, and gives the wealth in spite of his love (for it) (to) those the near relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and (of) the wayfarer, and those who ask, and in freeing the necks (slaves) and (who) establish the prayer, and give the zakat, and those who fulfill their covenant when they make it; and those who are patient in [the] suffering and [the] hardship, and (the) time (of) [the] stress. Those (are) the ones who are true and those, [they] (are) the righteous. – Surah Al Baqarah; Verse 177 |
16. Believers who fear Allah SWT and recite his verses will have increased faith
| إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَنًۭا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ Transliteration innamā l-mu’minūna alladhīna idhā dhukira l-lahu wajilat qulūbuhum wa-idhā tuliyat ʿalayhim āyātuhu zādathum īmānan waʿalā rabbihim yatawakkalūn Meaning Only the believers (are) those who when is mentioned Allah feel fear in their hearts, and when are recited to them His Verses, they increase them (in) faith, and upon their Lord they put their trust. – Surah Al Anfal; Verse 2 |
17. Believers establish prayer diligently on time
| قُل لِّعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَهُمْ سِرًّۭا وَعَلَانِيَةًۭ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌۭ لَّا بَيْعٌۭ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَلٌ Transliteration qul liʿibādiya alladhīna āmanū yuqīmū l-ṣalata wayunfiqū mimmā razaqnāhum sirran waʿalāniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun lā bayʿun fīhi walā khilālu Meaning Say to My slaves those who believe (to) establish the prayers, and (to) spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, from before [that] comes a Day not any trade in it and not any friendship. – Surah Ibrahim; Verse 31 |
18. Do not approach prayer if you’re intoxicated or impure
| يَٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا۟ مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِى سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌۭ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلْغَآئِطِ أَوْ لَمَسْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا۟ مَآءًۭ فَتَيَمَّمُوا۟ صَعِيدًۭا طَيِّبًۭا فَٱمْسَحُوا۟ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا Transliteration yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā taqrabū l-ṣalata wa-antum sukārā ḥattā taʿlamū mā taqūlūna walā junuban illā ʿābirī sabīlin ḥattā taghtasilū wa-in kuntum marḍā aw ʿalā safarin aw jāa aḥadun minkum mina l-ghāiṭi aw lāmastumu l-nisāa falam tajidū māan fatayammamū ṣaʿīdan ṭayyiban fa-im’saḥū biwujūhikum wa-aydīkum inna l-laha kāna ʿafuwwan ghafūra Meaning O you who believe[d]! (Do) not go near the prayer while you (are) intoxicated until you know what you are saying and not (when you are) impure except (when) passing (through) a way until you have bathed. And if you are ill or on a journey or came one of you from the toilet, or you have touched the women and not you find water, then do tayammum (with) earth clean and wipe (with it) your faces and your hands. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving. – Surah An Nisa; Verse 43 |
19. Do not display yourselves out of ignorance
| وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰۖ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۚۥٓ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًۭا Transliteration waqarna fī buyūtikunna walā tabarrajna tabarruja l-jāhiliyati l-ūlā wa-aqim’na l-ṣalata waātīna l-zakata wa-aṭiʿ’na l-laha warasūlahu innamā yurīdu l-lahu liyudh’hiba ʿankumu l-rij’sa ahla l-bayti wayuṭahhirakum taṭhīra Meaning And stay in your houses and (do) not display yourselves (as was the) display (of the times of) ignorance the former. And establish the prayer and give zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Only wishes Allah to remove from you the impurity, (O) People (of) the House! And to purify you (with thorough) purification. – Surah Al Azhab; Verse 33 |

| ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ Transliteration ih’dinā l-ṣirāṭa l-mus’taqīm Meaning Guide us (to) the path, the straight. – Surah Al Fatiha: Verse 16 |
