1.    Surah Al Kahf

If you reflect on Surah Al Kahf and recite the surah, it will inevitably ease your sadness. During challenging times, you must learn to identify why you are being tested. You must seek help and guidance from Allah SWT from this. “[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said,

“Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”

(Quran 18:10])

The above verse stresses the vastness of the Almighty’s wisdom & power. Say,

“If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if we brought the like of it as a supplement.”

(Quran 18:109)

If you recite Surah Al Kahf, it will ease your condition.

2. Surah Ar Rahman

“The Most Merciful taught the Quran, created man, [and] taught him eloquence.”

(Quran 55:1-4)

The aforementioned verse reveals that the Holy Quran is a blessing for believers. It is considered as a sign of the Almighty’s mercy to humans. If you make it a practice to recite Surah Ar Rahman, you won’t be worried about the matters of this life. According to Sturdy, Surah Ar Rahman is very efficient in curing depressive disorders in Muslim women. So, treat this surah as the ideal remedy to cure depression.

“So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?”

(Quran 55:13)

The above verse is a reminder about all the things we have been blessed with. If you consider the blessings, you will undoubtedly be benefitted. Based on a study, you will not be depressed if you count the blessings instead of the losses.

3. Surah Ad Duha

“Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you].”

(Quran 93:3)

This chapter of the Holy Quran serves as consolation. It also serves as a reminder that Prophet Muhammad PBUH was granted three major favors by Allah SWT, in life. These are –

Being kind towards
1. Orphans
2. One who seeks knowledge
3. Needy

This chapter of the Quran sends a positive message. You should use this message as inspiration on a personal level. It also teaches you that better things await you.

“And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].”

(Quran 93:4)

The above verse gives you a reminder that the hardships of this life are not permanent. The verse also expresses that the problems you experience on this worldly life are fleeting compared to the grand scheme of things.

4. Surah Yusuf

The takeaways from this surah is the patience & trust that Prophet Yusuf had towards Allah SWT even during challenging circumstances. Prophet Yusuf suffered abuse from his own brothers. He eventually got abandoned by them.

“He said, ‘I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know. O my sons, go and find out about Joseph and his brother and despair not of relief from Allah. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people.’”

(Quran 12:86-87)

You should recite the above when you want to improve your situation. You should always remain hopeful that Allah SWT will provide you relief, even if the results are not immediate. Prophet Yusuf realized –

“And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, ‘O my father, this explains my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.’”

    • Surah Yusuf for beauty

One of the unique tales in Islam is the story of Prophet Yusuf’s beauty, which is mentioned in the Holy Quran in Chapter 12. In addition to his noble character, Prophet Yusuf (AS) is widely known for his beauty. Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Yusuf and his mother were given half of all the beauty in the world.” (Tabari)

This Ayah refers to when Aziz’s wife organized an elaborate feast and invited the women over. She handed out each person a knife to slice the fruits that they were served. She then ordered Prophet Yusuf (AS) to enter the hall. When the Egyptian women saw him, they were captivated by his beauty to the extent that they fell head over heels in love with him. Looking at his shining face and modesty, the group of women exclaimed him to be a heavenly angel.

Therefore, when it comes to beautifying the appearance, this is the surah to listen for beauty!
